I trained at Harrow School of Art in England for four years
and after qualifying, I worked in London for about three years
before travelling to South Africa, where I lived most of my
life.
The warmth and vibrant colours of the beautiful country and diversity
of the people have undoubtedly influenced my work.
For
a few years, I worked as a commercial artist in the advertising
industry. I then opened a silk-screen printing factory which I operated for a few years, until it was eventually sold when
my first daughter was born .
When my
second daughter started pre-school, I volunteered
to paint 'Winnie the Pooh' on an old school wall to brighten it
up. (See 'Tea with Winnie')
An article was published and then,
before I knew it, I was also featured in another national magazine
and found myself in business!
I have also
been commissioned to paint 'Old Masters' reproductions,
such as those from Vincent Van Gogh, and Gauguin, as well as murals.
I have a comprehensive art and design
background that has enabled me to sell a variety of work and which
I've thoroughly enjoyed doing
over the years.
Since arriving
in England, I have been working at a school with Specialist status
in Arts and Technology.
In my
current role, I have delivered classes in life drawing, felt
making, ceramics, pastel drawing and creative learning classes to
support students with GCSE course work in photography and Adobe
Photoshop software manipulation.
I can now
offer Creative Workshops privately. Please contact me for further
details.
